Bridge Between Kingdoms
A Survivor’s Voice Takes Centre Stage in London Premiere of Bridge Between Kingdoms
This October, London audiences will experience a reading of the unflinching new play Bridge Between Kingdoms, a raw, lyrical exploration of love, intimacy, and survival after sexual trauma. Written by award-winning screenwriter Ronika Merl, the piece follows Kiki, a woman navigating three very different relationships, each shaped by her past and her search for connection.
Set across rural Ireland, high-society events, and private moments behind closed doors, Bridge Between Kingdoms examines how the long shadow of violence shapes the way survivors love, trust, and heal.
Far from a story of “rescue,” the play resists easy answers, offering instead a deeply human portrait of resilience: how intimacy can be both balm and danger, how desire can be reclaimed and re-wounded, and how love can feel at once miraculous and terrifying.
The production arrives at a time when conversations about consent, trauma, and survivor narratives have entered the public consciousness more urgently than ever.
Bridge Between Kingdoms opens at The Old Red Lion Theatre on October 5th.
